MI boy and I attended our condo's holiday party last night. Never been to one before. I honestly wasn't up for mingling with strangers Friday night but I said what the heck. There's free food and drinks - might as well for a bit. For some reason I thought it would be a little boring. Old folks, families with their kids. But it started filling up with all different age groups. Someone recognized MI Boy from the elevator and came over to say hi. Before we knew it we had made some new acquaintances in the building. After a few more gin and tonics, the party became 'an apartment crawl'. Apparently last year they did this thing where they went to different people's condo units and partied for about 20-30 minutes and then picked someone else's place to party! The funny thing was that last year they just drank whatever liquor people had in their place. This year we piled all the liquor into a cart and hauled it to each unit! It was a hoot seeing how different all the condo's looked from the inside. MI boy was a bit tired and he decided to head back to our place. But I decided to mingle a bit longer. And I didn't even want to go to this party in the first place and now I'm partying with a bunch of people I just met! I actually didn't have anything more to drink the rest of the night - i know my limits. Unfortunately at one place someone spilled red wine all over the carpet. And being the cleaning freak that my mother made me I stepped right up to help scrub it out. I gotta tell ya Oxy Clean is the best! After all the scrubbing - I headed to the next unit and pretty much just said bye to everyone I met. All in all it was a good experience. Now I'll know some people to say hi to in the elevator...if I"m not to shy
