The life and times of a moose.

Through Indiana....and Beyond!
I'm headed to MI boy's parents place for Christmas this year. (Need to start celebrating more with the potential in-laws) We left Chicago at about 1:30pm. The drizzly rain kinda put a damper on the thrill of a road trip. We hit some traffic where I-90 merges with I-80. And right as we discovered an alternate route to take, the traffic cleared and it was smooth - but wet - sailing. But we did stop for gas and I picked up some peanut butter snack crackers and an iced tea for lunch. Yum. And for musical entertainment, we played a mish-mash of stuff - Matisyahu, Garden State soundtrack and a collection of The Jerky Boys prank phone calls. We arrived at his parents place to find a nice hot Thanksgiving reminiscent meal - Turkey breast, mashed potatoes, cranberry sauce and salad. We popped open a bottle of wine and enjoyed a delicious meal after that long drive. I'm slowly digesting as I type this, while MI boy is sitting cute in his room on his black bean bag flipping channels. Tomorrow I'll be wrapping some gifts, helping his mom with the party preparations and basically hanging out til all the family arrives. I'm excited to meet the new addition to the family, MI boy's new 2nd nephew - Gage. He's not yet a year old so I'm sure he still has that sweet baby smell and cuddly chubbiness! A good time should be had by all. I'll give a final report on what I ended up receiving from everyone as gifts (not that all that is the most important - but who doesn't like new things Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to all!
