So Yummy

So this past weekend, Michigan Boy and I went back to his hometown of West Bloomfield, MI to see his mom and dad. (We also stopped to see his bro in Ann Arbor as well) Anyhoo, his mom will feed you until you're so full that you're walking around like a pregnant lady in full term! Needless to say we ate very well. In addition, she gave me the recipe for one of MB's favorite things, Orange Chocolate Chip Cookies. Or as she calls them Orange Chip Crisps. Somehow I think she's hinting that she wants me to cook and bake more for her youngest boy I share this with you now, in the hopes that you all will find someone to love and bake for...(ok that was mushy i know)

  • 2 cups sifted flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine softed
  • 1 package 12oz, semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • Rind of one orange, grated
  • 1 1/2 cups (one and a half) granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 5 tablespoon frozen (concentrate) orange juice thawed - do not dilute
  1. Sift together flour, baking soda and salt
  2. Cream butter until light and add eggs one at a time beating together well
  3. Add sifted ingredients alternately with orange juice.
  4. Stir in chocolate chips with a spoon
  5. Add orange rind and stir.
  6. Drop onto lightly greased cookie sheets by spoonfuls ( I wouldn't use anything bigger than a tablespoon since these tend to spread out pretty big)
  7. Bake 8-10 min at 350 degrees until light brown (makes 4 dozen)
