Moosealot here reporting live from the depths of snow in Chicago. Unfortunately as the country knows now there was a tragic accidents here at our Midway airport. A young boy was killed when a Southwest jet skidded off the runway, through a barricade and out into surrounding traffic. Other were injured and thank God there weren't any other fatalities. But I always knew something like that was going to happen someday. That runway is just too short. Landing at Midway has always been a fear for me. We have to come in so low so planes can hit as much of the runway was possible. It is likely (as people are speculating) that the plane landed to late, therefore not having enough clearance to properly stop. But that storm was just nasty! Mother Nature dropped a snow bomb on us! At least it will be a decent winter temperature this weekend (in the 30's). I have some Christmas shopping to do! This is mooselot reporting live...back to you mindsayers.
