Ok ok...Here's my Valentine's Day plans. Dinner, 7:30, new French Restaurant near our condo.

That's it. He bought me an orchid. I got him a card. Maybe I'll pick up some chocolates after work (he loves chocolate). But that's it. For us Valentine's day is just another excuse for us to go out and eat...which we LOOOOOVE to do. It's not mushy. We don't exchange extravagant gifts from the jeweler at the mall. We don't dress in red. We don't light candles and get in a bubble bath and sip champagne. WAIT...why aren't we doing all this???

Because we don't need all that to know (even without saying it) that we love each other. Spending time with the person you love doing something you both enjoy is sharing in the spirit of Valentine's Day or even any holiday. It's not a hallmark holiday, it's not about the history of where it came from. It's just part of our human tradition to pick days to remember to show people you care.
